Transformation

Front hall close to time of purchase in early 2008

Front hall today, Feb 2011, installing light fixture, crown molding.

Kitchen at time of purchase 2008

Kitchen view as we were constructing interior framing, 2009

Kitchen, slightly different view, Feb 2011, range hood installed, Vermont soapstone counters, faucet, outlets and lights installed, Armstrong cabinets...stove to be delivered in a couple of weeks (the first one was damaged and not the right fuel source).

Another view of the kitchen sink, missing the front piece of countertop.  Pantry lit, and refrigerator (Viking) installed in the alcove, perfect fit for the floor HVAC vent next to it.

Sooooooo, you can now see we are very close to finishing up the renovation and restoration phases of this amazing project.  I can hardly believe the cerificate of occupancy is within reach.  It's been a long three years with many people, artists, and businesses contributing to this project not only with supplies and labor, but with suppor and enthusiasm for the project.

We have to shock the well this weekend as it's been laying inactive for three years.  A water softener system has to be installed due to the iron and mineral content.  The acidity/alkalinity is actually just right. A small back stairs/deck has to be constructed to pass inspection on the back porch.

It is a really strange feeling to be in the house now, with all the toilets in place and faucets waiting to be turned on, and lights burning bright.

Almost there.
